Lack of Facebook Access Makes You Want to Quit? Grow Up, Punks
Most honest heading I’ve ever seen.
I am a huge proponent for being allowed a little jack around time on the job. Grinding out 7-8 hours of work continuously in a day is bad for moral, motivation, and could lead to kicking your dog or cat. Being given the flexibility break up your day into 2-3 hour blocks can make it somewhat bearable. I compare my internet slacking equal to the time the smoke break folks use throughout their day. However my breaks are more creative, informative, and less cancerous.
But when it comes down to it you are there to work. Someone hired you based on your perceived skill set and saw you as an asset to their company, not quality assurance making sure they get their money’s worth from their broadband service.
Long story short, if you’re going to quit your job because your favorite web service is blocked, make sure its something way fucking cooler than Facebook. Srsly.
*network admins, I know the real reasons you block the stuff, buts its still an f’ing pain.
