GPOYW Theme PSA
Tomorrow the debauchery of new years eve will be upon us and since there is no Y2k, lets make this a GPOYW new year!  It will probably be a lagged gpoyw but I still encourage everyone to participate. Either some 2009 glasses, a new years hat, adult beverage in your hand, or I’d even be okay with documenting your 12:00 makeout because you may not remember it but Tumblr will.  Have a safe new...

Male Skillset
As a man I believe there should be several basic skillsets in your man repertoire.  These may either be taught or learned going through life as a dude. How to swing a hammer Sounds simple enough but watch someone who’s never driven a nail Drive a manual transmission Not necessarily ‘manly’ but a good skill to have should a situation ever arise Throw a punch It...

Just woke up dream log for later WTF analysis
My friend and I were driving in small town USA when a Lamborghini Gallardo and Ferrari Testarossa come screaming by both with car alarms blaring.  2 Cop cars quickly take chase right as both cars turn into a vacant parking lot where the drivers flee and jump the fence to a busy summertime pool. Still driving, we come up on a stop a sign and notice a male and female hitchhiker and opt to pick them...

The Life of a Bearded Amateur
From Billy Mays to political figures to Santa Claus the beard has been a symbol of masculinity and power.  The beard can be represented in many shapes and forms either for form or function.  For me, it has been an everyday reminder that I did this on purpose for whatever reason and with every new facial hair adventure comes an unanticipated set of problems.  They go as follows: Blowing your...

GPOYW - For the Holidays
The gratuitous picture of yourself Wednesday offices are closed today, but may I encourage everyone to post a picture of you being surrounded by the ones you love and care about most, your family.  Gratuity is fun but family gratuity is better.  Simple math. So go back to your eggnog cheerios and I will see everyone in a week.  GPOYW new years eve next week, start drinking water now.

GPOYW Theme PSA
With tomorrow being the middle for week and more commonly know as Wednesday means that GPOYW is fast approaching.  The GPOYW committee (me) has decided that this weeks theme will be based on the second best holiday movie ever Home Alone.  A Christmas Story is #1 one obviously. So what I’d like to see is your best Kevin McCallister “aghghghrhrhhgh” face.  Easy enough where...

How to get Xbox Live to stop complaing about...
marco: It’s not a UPnP problem, nor will any combination of port-forwards work. Switch to Static-Port mode, and it starts working immediately with no additional firewall or NAT rules. This took me forever to find tonight. (Information contributed to the internet for the benefit of other people looking for it eventually.) Quick fix in dd-wrt.  Wonderful.

Circle of Life
Many elements in my life can be classified into series of small unfortunate events and tonight is easily placed with this categorization.  What I anticipated as a soon-to-be-eaten can of chicken noodle soup turned out to be a mispurchased soon-to-be-eaten-because-I-already-heated-it-up can of split pea and ham soup.  The taste can easily described as two or three notches below as gross as it...

Harsh Reality of the Day
I can schmooze, bullshit, and sell an idea any day of the week but when asked to create a visually pleasing graphic presentation I feel like someone has asked me to design and engineer the next lunar rover. My sense of spacial design and aesthetics is that of a five year old. I know what I like and don’t like however I do not have the means to reach an end result that doesn’t induce...

Ten Rules for Being Human by Cherie Carter-Scott
she-thinks: 1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it’s yours to keep for the entire period. 2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, “life.” 3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that...
